Last week we welcomed back Anorak, said hello to new hasher LuLu and had a visit from some of the members of the Porthleven hash.
The hash proved to be
incredibly long as most people missed the long/short divide because of cannon
fodder was standing on it! While all this was going on, Tosh Potty kept her
local knowledge of the area to herself, and thought it would be best to carry
on going the long way with everybody else.
The run began with lovely sea views, but soon we were overwhelmed by the stench
of rotting seaweed and other excrementious treats that were lurking on the
beach. Anorak and Russ Abbot of the Plympton tarts decided to find out exactly
what was causing this stink and waded in knee deep! Oh dear...
The smell wasn’t the only problem. Shrek became the pied piper of all creatures small and fluffy, after the group were ambushed by a gang of Yorkshire terriers. Once we’d overcome all of this, stinging nettles were the next obstacle. For most these caused little problem, however Spike was not pleased that the nettles could harm the pristine condition of his legs.
While the rest of us were
battling through the forest of nettles, Pimp, Tampax and the Plympton tarts
were home. They had successfully followed the short trail to arrive home a
good 10 minutes before the rest of the group. At least we know who to follow
next week!
Overall it was a great hash. It was the hash that almost wasn’t following
the heavy rain and children kicking out the trail. But thanks to last week’s
hares for re-laying the entire trail.... Although, we were not so sure about
the ‘On home’ about a mile from home!
Finally......
On 9th October there will be a barn dance at Clearbrook Village Hall. For more information talk to Barney.
